November 5, 1-4PM: Belonging
Humans co-regulate. This means that we heal in community. A healing community is one where everyone feels like they belong and that they can be open and vulnerable. This workshop uses a trauma informed framework to explain how teachers, students and staff can help co-create yoga communities that are welcoming for all.
This is a lecture. Bring what you need to be comfortable and take notes.
November 6, 1:30- 4PM: Accessible Vinyasa
Yoga is for all people; however, we are not all physically built the same. This workshop gives tips and tricks to make vinyasa classes accessible for more body types. We will discuss hypermobility, cueing, simple variations and sequence considerations that work for a wider variety of bodies. Students will leave with tips to help make common vinyasa moves work better for their bodies. Teachers will learn ways to transition and switch up their flows that are still challenging but are more accessible for a wider audience.
This is mostly lecture with a little bit of light movement.
