with david key, sound therapist
Join David Key, sound therapist and shamanic practitioner, for this unique offering about the healing potential of sound and the use of the rattle and frame drum as sacred sound tools. You will be introduced to techniques used to play each instrument, and the practice of using them for sacred sound connections, journeying, meditation, energetic clearing, grounding, intuitive diagnosis, and other areas specific to these instruments. No instruments are provided for this informational/experiential workshop. You may bring your own rattle and/or frame drum, or come without, to experience these ancient instruments and learn more about them.
If you have a rattle or frame drum,or have always wanted to experience them before purchasing or making your own, this will be a great introduction to the playing techniques and uses of these shamanic instruments. This workshop uses frame drums with beater sticks, not African-style hand drums.
A little bit about the host:
David Key is a sound therapist, National Board-Certified therapeutic musician, and shamanic practitioner. Through his personal discovery of therapeutic instruments and extensive training with global sound therapists, David brings a broad knowledge of music, therapeutic sound, and clear instruction to his sound therapy offerings.

In his popular Sound Immersion, he uses voice, drum, wind instruments, singing bowls, gongs, chimes, and other therapeutic sounds to create a deep, transportive version of a sound bath. David also provides intuitive, shamanic sound therapy sessions for individual clients, using the vibrations of frame drum, rattle, and voice.
