Yin Yoga is a practice that is deeply nourishing. It enhances the natural range of motion in the joints. It stretches the connective tissue (fascia) around the joints, mainly the knees, pelvis, sacrum, and spine. For that reason we will practice a variation of seated and supine poses for 3-5 minutes each, accessing deeper layers of fascia. Mentally, yin yoga trains you to become comfortable instead of becoming alarmed. On an energetic level, yin enhances the flow of prana (life force) in the tissues around the joints, where energy often stagnates.
